Blog 33 - Wednesday, February 11, 2015

In the short story "The Hockey Sweater" by Roch Carrier, Roch is extremely disappointed when he opens his mail and receives a Toronto Maple Leafs sweater.  I would be disappointed as well.

Tell me about a time you were disappointed in something or in someone. Explain.

    A time when I was disappointed is probably the time when I order two iPhone cases on Amazon. I ordered one case that was blue stripes and another one that was just pink. It took two and a half weeks to get to my house and I was sooooo inpatient. When it finally came in I obviously opened it right away. Instead of getting the pink case, I got an orange one, that looked like it has already been used. I kept looking through the box for my blue striped case and it wasn't there. I was so disappointed because I didn't get what I wanted and it took forever to get to my house.

    I was super disappointed at christmas when I got a terrible gift. My mom was getting me really hyped with my sister. She was saying that my grandparents got us something that we've always wanted. We were super excited thinking of video games and consoles and all sorts of things from Toys R Us. We ended up getting some farm pants and really weird used things like toothpaste and stuff. We were so disappointed and sad that my mom took us to best buy to each get a Wii game. It wasn't the worst thing, but it was one of them.

      A time that I was most disappointed was when my soccer team made it in the finals, and we trained and put all our best effort to win this game or tournament. We couldn t find a way to beat this team, we mostly all tried are bests, but we couldn t succeed to beat the keeper. Usually after a game, I think about what I could ve changed to make my game better, but if I played my best, I can t change that. I also tried my best to motivate or wake up my teammates by playing aggressive, but we couldn t win. I was very disappointed!!!

    One time I was disappointed was when I really wanted this bracelet from Melanie Audrey but I never got the chance to get it. I asked my sister for it for months and she said that she would get it for me for Christmas but when Christmas came, I didn't get it. It was a Canada bracelet. It was two bracelets attached together. It was red and white, Canada colours. A few days after Christmas, I asked my sister why she didn't get it for me and she said that she forgot. Then I asked her if she can get it for me now but she said she doesn't know if she can. I've been waiting for that bracelet for about 5 months. I still want that bracelet and I'm going to remind my sister to get it for me or I can just ask my dad but I don't think he would know which one I wanted so I hope my sister can just get it for me!

    One time I was so disappointed when my grand-ma got me socks for christmas and I was like really nonna really, because I thought she was getting me a laptop because she told me she was getting me one and that I would get it for christmas so I was so happy to open my gift but it was socks 5 pairs of socks and my face was like what even because I was like um I thought I was getting my laptop and then my grand-ma was like oh did you actually think I would get you that and I'm like ya? and then she's like oh no daring no no no I got you socks and the socks she got me were like grand-ma socks!

    I was honestly very disappointed today, i had came it late with a very big headache to school, i was not very hungry during my lunch so i decided make my brother to buy me a cookie during his lunch. I ended up not finding him at the 5min bell, so i had asked my french teacher if i would be able to search for him. I found him, then he took all my money and didn't buy me anything.i was extremely hungry all day. thanks soto. -Billy

    I'm disappointed right now because I'm sick again!! I don't understand why it always happens to me. I have a sore throat again and I'm really weak. It's the same thing I had last week and two weeks before that! I've been getting sick so much lately and I hate it... Especially sore throats! I can't stand the pain!! I'd rather have fever than a sore throat. I just hope my throat doesn't become worse tomorrow and it doesn't last as long because I can't miss another day of school!

    I was very dissapointed earlier this year when mymom promised me that she would pick me up from school, while the both of us spent the rest ofthat day together. When she told me she couldn't do it because she was busy I was very dissapointed. My mom is either busy working,going to classes in the afternoon or taking care of my younger brother so we usually don't spend as much time as we should.She did end up making up for our lost time,but I was still upset that we couldn't have done it earlier.

    A time when I was disappointed was a couple weeks ago. I was studying super hard for a test and in my mind I thought I was gonna do SOOO well. I get the result back a couple of weeks later and I didn't do as well as I thought I would. So after class I went to the teacher and asked when she has tutorials and she told me. So when that day came, I went and we reviewed the whole test to see where I went wrong. The next week came along and we had another test on the similar subject and I studied some more and those results were so much better. So in the end I did so much better!

    One time I was disappointed was on Christmas day. All of my siblings were opening their gifts to get everything they wanted, they were so happy... this was not the case for me. I wanted video games and stuff, and what do I get, I get CLOTHES. So yeah, I was crying like a baby, wouldn't talk to my parents out of disappointment. But, out of the goodness of their hearts, they took me later to get video games. I was happy, which made Christmas awesome.

    The most disappointing moment of my life so far, is when me and my teammates were getting smashed by these ogres in hockey. They kept in on injuring us until we couldn't play properly and no penalties were called. This caused us to get 3 place in our tournament.

    I never really had a disappointed moment in my life. Yes there were thing that I didn't like or I was sad about. But to be completely honest I was never that disappointed. In general I don't have anything that I regret or I am disappointed of doing.
